Cooking for the support of bowel cancer awareness

What will you be cooking tonight?

All Natural, produce used without adding sugars and complex carbohydrates. The focus is to keep delicious natural flavours of foods without adding sugar to it. Alkaline your taste buds and improve bowel function to prevent bowel cancer. These particular grains used in the recipe for bowel health encourages a balance of microbiome within the GUT. Ideal for Stage 1 and Stage 2 diabetes.

Brown rice in Turmeric with Grilled Salmon

– Cook 1 cup Brown rice in 2 cups water with 3 stems of Fresh Turmeric – 20 mins in a rice cooker or until done
– Chop 2 leaves of silver beet spinach into strips and blanch in a pan with 3 tablespoons of water, and mix throughout the cooked brown rice, taking the turmeric knobs out once the rice is cooked
– Grill ½ a salmon steak with 2 tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil on top with a drizzle of cracked black pepper and a pinch of Pink Himalayan salt
– Garnished with Lemon Grind to serve

 

Note: You can eat the lemon grind after finishing the meal to aid digestion and enzyme support for the liver.

 

Ingredients:

  • Brown rice
  • Silver beet spinach
  • Salmon steak
  • 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil or coconut oil
  • Cracked black pepper
  • Pink Himalayan mineral salt
  • Lemon Grind
  • Fresh Turmeric root

Brown rice – Single protein
Silver beet spinach – Great for bowel function and liver support
Salmon – high in omega 3, 6, 9. Essential fatty acids and protein, great for the nervous system
Lemon – Aids liver in releasing bile for Bowel support and function
Turmeric – Aids in lowering acid and inflammation within the Bowel and body
Himalayan Pink mineral Salt – High in minerals Calcium, Mag, Sodium, Potassium for bowel contraction.

Salad – Dijon beetroot salad

– Boil up 4 whole beetroots till tender
– Cut the beetroots into ¼’s
– Mix 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard and the squeeze of 2 lemons – making a Dijon lemon dressing.
– Pour the dressing on top of the cut up beetroots
– Cook up 1 cup buckwheat adding 2 cups water into the rice cooker. Once it’s cooked mix ½ a cup into the beetroots soaking in the Dijon lemon dressing
– Chop up a bunch of parsley and place on top of the beetroot with the buckwheat and Dijon mustard
– Place last the pomegranate seeds for a burst of added sunshine and sweetness to this nourishing salad

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 whole beetroots
  • Dijon Mustard
  • 1 cup Buckwheat
  • Small tub of Pomegranates
  • Small bunch of parsley
  • 2 Lemons

Nutrient Value:
Beetroots – Great for bowel and liver support in its function. also high in Vitamin B which softens bowel content
Dijon mustard – Contains selenium which is a mineral that comes from our soil – Aids in Thyroid function which is part of our immune system
Pomegranates – High intake of vitamin C
Parsley – Fantastic for the kidneys in aiding detoxification and strengthening kidney function. Also high in Fe (iron) which is needed for bowel contraction
Buckwheat – single protein great for building the guts microbiome and encouraging bowel function

Desert – Stewed cinnamon red apples

– Cut up 4 red apples – Granny smith apples and stew them in 1 cup of water
– Add the cinnamon stick to the stew and cook for 5 minutes until apples are soft
– Add a little bit of cinnamon after cooked if you wish
– Place the cooled stewed apples on top of 4 tablespoons of sheep’s yogurt

Ingredients:

  • 4 Red granny smith apples
  • 1 cinnamon Stick
  • A pinch of Cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons of Sheep’s yogurt

Nutrient Value:
Red apples are sweeter than the green so added sweetness is not needed when stewing apples – great fibre for the bowel
Cinnamon – lowers blood sugar if your levels are already high and stops sugar cravings
Sheep’s yogurt – is a small molecule which makes it possible to absorb calcium and protein for good bacteria in its probiotic form.
